About Chris Shelton

Chris Shelton is much more than a musician. He is a multi-talented artist who has worked toward an accomplished career as a composer, guitarist, producer, advertising business co-owner, recording engineer, and educator.

Shelton is a published author and composer, and winner of the American Prize®, six Global Music Award®, The Communicator Award®,  AVA Digital Award®, and Davey Award®, among others, as well as served as Recording Engineer on a Latin GRAMMY® winning album. 
 
From opening shows for Alice Cooper, Scorpions, and Ozzy Osbourne at age 20 to having pieces premiered in several countries in Europe and North and South America, Chris Shelton has toured the USA with his fellow band members, and prolifically composed and produced music for videos, jingles, and ads.

As a graduate of Berklee College of Music, and the New England Conservatory, Chris had the opportunity to study with masters of the trade and deepen his understanding of several musical genres ranging from pop to classical.

As an entrepreneur, Shelton’s financial acumen has generated multi-million dollar profitability for arts/non-arts companies.

As an educator, Chris Shelton teaches Composition, Music Technology,  Production, and Music Business at the University of Florida, where he earned his Ph.D. in Composition, with a cognate in Music Production & Entrepreneurship. Chris is also Production Coach for the SPARC352 project and is known for cultivating his students’ financial literacy and creative ingenuity.
